Chapter 2

In the second chapter of the novel the reader gets to know some important information of Mannys life. He is in year ten now. He compares his life with that of his cousin Eckbal, because Eckbals parents take care about his school education. They take school serious. Manny wonders why he ends up in such a traditional Punjabi Family, and not one of the more liberal ones. Manny thinks about his future and what he sees is terrible.
When his brother Harry arrivews back home, they fight at each other, because Harry blackmails Manny with the fact that he would like to be white, and not a Punjabi man. Harry is right with his comment, because Manny hates his family and their traditions. Especially when his fahter confronts him with the fact that he will gett married like his brother Ranjit. That will be when he is seventeen. This point which is mention by his fahter, destroy his future plans. Manny thinks about to play for Liverpool and score the winning goals. And so on.
